Don’t have anywhere to go after you’ve seen the first of the 12 American Idol finalists get axed off the show tonight? Check out lounge singer-turned-stage-show impresario Gerry “Big Daddy” Keating as he channels ’70s TV emcee Gene Rayburn for his monthly game-show competition at Twist. This time, he’s hosting the spirited, 90-minute Match Game, in which contestants try to come up with answers to fill-in-the-blank questions and hope they correspond with responses from a three-person panel. The winner walks out the door with a $25 bar tab for future boozing. ...
For the last couple years, Keating has been emceeing shows and alternating games each month. In February, he hosted a few rounds of Tattletales, in which a player blabs the dirt on a teammate, who’s sequestered on the bar’s enclosed patio. If the second player can guess what the first player said about him, the pair scores a point. Keating says he asked one dude about the kinkiest sex toy his partner had ever used. “So he says, ‘A black-strapped leather dildo.’ Sure enough, when we brought his partner back from the patio, I asked her the same thing. Without missing a beat, she yells, ‘A black-strapped leather dildo!’” laughs Keating. “It was the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen.”. The game starts at 11 p.m. at Twist, 11633 Clifton Boulevard. It’s free. Call 216-221-2333 for more details. – Cris Glaser
